PMD:Rescue Team DX Post-Game Guide

So a couple years back, I had a person message me on Discord who was struggling to get started on the Post-Game of PMD: Rescue Team DX, which is personally my favorite part of that game. Over the course of me trying to help, I realized that I know alot about playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon that isn't common knowledge so I thought it would be a good idea to create an official "Tips and Tricks" page about how to survive and thrive in the RTDX Postgame. This is not meant to be comprehensive or to tell everyone to play exactly like this. This is just to help people who are struggling to get by and to talk about some of the best ways to get powerful in this game.

General Gameplay

Useful Information

  • Eat Status Curing Berries as you find them to maintain your Belly and open up your Inventory. Poison and Burn are about the only statuses that can directly cause a faint

  • All Main Story Dungeons act as though you have the X-Ray Specs equipped by default; use your ability to detect items and enemies to level up and gather resources during the early game

  • Sell any Gold Ribbons, Deluxe Ribbons, and unwanted equippable items you have for money; funds are very necessary for Living Dex

  • Recruit any Pokemon that offers to be Recruited until you get a Full Party; Dismissing Unwanted Pokemon at the End of the Dungeon rewards additional Money

  • Ocean Dungeons spawn Food very rarely; consider getting the "Food Finder" Rare Quality on a helpful Pokemon with a Type Advantage like Magnezone or Zapdos

  • Every Pokemon can cap their stats at the same number of 255 and 500 HP, meaning every Pokemon’s viability is determined by their Moveset, Typing, and Ability rather than their Base Stats INCLUDING unevolved Pokemon

  • Level Up Stats fall off after reaching level 30; at that point, it’s best to pivot to Vitamin Farming in the Buried Relic or Unown Relic

  • Try to stick to a few several Pokemon that you feel comfortable taking through long dungeons, this is especially recommended if your moves are low level and you're struggling with accuracy

Important Items

  • Training: Vitamins, Sitrus Berries, Energy Seeds, Training Seed, Move Boosting Drinks, Gummies (Drinks and Gummies are kept in seperate inventory from other items and can be accessed freely in Friend Areas)

  • Battling: Stayaway Wands, Empowerment Seed, All Dodge Orb, All Power-Up Orb, All Protect Orb, Helper Orb, Health Orb, Revive All Orb, any room wide status orb that can help shut down Monster Houses, Munch Belt, Fierce Bandana, Mach Ribbon
  • Living Dex: Wigglytuff Orb (can be combined with "Bargain" rare quality to buy Friend Areas for cheap), Friend Bow, Inviting Orb, Invitations, Evolutionary Crystals (kept in seperate inventory)

Pokemon List

Wailmer, Larvitar, Misdreavus, Slowbro, Clefairy, Sableye, Smoochum, Mareep, Beautifly, Dragonair, Roselia, Mantyke, Togetic, Chingling, Rhyhorn

All of these Pokemon are really valuable recruits as they usually come with great ranged moves and Rare Qualities that have a lot of synergy with each Pokemon. All of these Pokemon missions are also for main story dungeons and you should be able to recruit all of them before Magma Cavern.

Wonder Mail Item Sets

  • Boosters: Move Strengthening Set, Physical Boost Set, Special Gummi Sample, Magical Boost Set, Move Technique Pack, Attack Move Pack, Move Stamina Pack, Rainbow Gummi Assortment, Lovely Gummi Assortment, Green Pouch, Blue Pouch, Red Pouch

These items are incredibly powerful and can be received at any point in the game. Personally I think they're a bit too powerful for early game (plus inputting every wondermail code can be tedious) but these are great resources if you find yourself underprepared for a difficult dungeon and boss fight.
