As I've mentioned elsewhere on the site, the three characters you see in the main banner for Graymin's Glyphs are some of my Kirby fan characters! To be honest, I never meant to end up making as many Kirby characters as I did, but it kinda just kept spiralling and now I have a toybox worth of them.

There's a lot of factors I think that contributed to my desire to create fan characters for Kirby and I think the most obvious is that the Kirby series just has such a fun mythos to play around with, especially when looking at the modern era of Kirby and the introduction of different factions and species into the world. Another pretty obvious reason I think a lot of people create a Kirby fan character is that they're simple-shaped and relatively easy to draw. Seeing how most of my SisterSent OCs lean towards Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem levels of detail, its easy to just sit back and just doodle an orb or a bobblehead character and get a 'full-body' drawing of that character in a short amount of time. The last big reason why I ended up getting very into creating Kirby characters is the fan community aspect. The Kirby fandom seems to be very welcoming to fan characters and I've found that theres a particulalry large sub-culture of the fandom that shares and celebrates fan characters on Tumblr and ArtFight specifically that I've always found very enjoyable and inspiring.

Dooloo: The Cycloptic Spellcaster

"Let's face it, nothing gets done around here without me!

The prideful Court Mage of Castle Dedede. Dooloo has climbed up the ranks of Beam Mages over the years, becoming an exemplar witch all Waddle Doos strive to match. While hardworking and dependable, her quick temper can catch both friend and foe by surprise. I wonder what special tricks she’s capable of?

Moveset Overview: Dooloo possesses all the trademark abilities of a skilled Beam Mage, though she has integrated techniques from ESP and Mirror based magic into her arsenal as well. Also, her beam attacks are usually stronger and/or faster then when Beam is used by Kirby or the average Waddle Doo mage.

Hydrangea: The Floral Fencer

“A healthy flower requires dirt, trimming, and hard work, not just sunshine.”

A diligent swordfighter from the Kingdom of Floralia. Apparently, she was originally fighting to stop Queen Sectonia but has since turned over a new leaf and is now Taranza’s bodyguard. I wonder how that happened? Whoosh! Look at that stylish sword! Those questions can wait, there’s a new quest waiting for this white-petaled warrior!

Moveset Overview: Hydrangea resembles other Sword fighters but her fencing style actually makes quite distinct from Meta Knight and the others. Instead of wide slashes, Hydrangea utilizes precise sword lunges, not unlike Queen Sectonia…Also, as one of the People of the Sky, Hydrangea possesses the elemental power of Leaf and Bloom to further compliment her swordplay.

Master Broomhilda: The Hatted Harbinger

Across Pop Star are sacred hidden locations that require regular upkeep from the Broom Hatters, and among the coven, Master Broomhilda is by the far the wisest and most powerful. The stoic and curmudgeonly teacher of Dooloo, Broomhilda’s focus on practicality have kept her uninvolved in Kirby’s adventures to protect Pop Star…until now. Pick up your broom and grab your hat because there’s work to be done!

Moveset Overview: Largely based on the Cleaning Ability like the other Broom Hatters, but is also a master brewer and borrows techniques from the Doctor Ability. Also seems to have some spells of the Dark Magic variety under her hat too.
