8/17/2026 - Capeshit Is So Good When Its Not Bad
Spider-Man movie was good. X-Men season finale not so much. Such is the way of superhero media in the modern day. Other than that, I'd say that other things have gone well even if I haven't done much productive aside from art. Pokemon Auto Chess is also very addictively fun.

8/9/2026 - Nerding Out and Hand Hobbies
I'd say that this was another slow week all things considered, but I still did some interesting things. Some of it was doing errands like and getting more chores around the house done. I went to a local city council meeting, I was taught a little bit about boxing, I went to another crochet club meeting and I've been catching up on some comic book and superhero stuff. (still have not seen the new Spider-Man movie, but I plan on doing that soon.)
I'm continuing to have a good time with the comp/junk journal. I didn't actually get many "post-worthy" art pieces and drawings done this week, but the comp journal at least helps me keep drawing without putting a ton of pressure on myself. In fact, I've probably needed a bit of a "reset" period from working on art stuff all the time so I'd say that even though I've felt a bit "distracted" this week, it will help me out in the long run.
8/3/2026 - Nostalgic Activities
A lot happened this past week. First off, I added a new somewhat-hidden page to the website which was very fun to put together. I finished working on a professional graphic project so that's an important task that was finished.
I went on a shopping trip where I picked up a cheap composition notebook and a pack of crayons that I've used for my new "Comp/Junk" journal, which has been a lot of fun so far! Here's some pictures from it, cause I actually ended up writing a lot about why I wanted to start a comp journal.
I also picked up a pair of cleaning gloves which I tested out while cleaning my bathroom on holy cow they make a huge difference for my slimy textures aversion. Finally I went on what turned out to be an overly ambitious hike on Sunday and definitely wore myself out so I'm going to be spending today resting and recuperating before getting back on the grindstone this week.
7/26/2026 - Awesome Excursions
So I haven't been exactly consistent with keeping up my intermittent journaling but this week has still been very productive as far as going out more and working on professional projects. At one of these events I started learning how to crochet. I still haven't exactly made something with it yet but the people at the club said that I was picking up on it fast, so I'll try looking at some tutorial videos on my own time and see where that gets me.
In other news, because I've been preoccupied with a professional graphic design project, I've kinda let Art Fight fall to the backburner of my priorities, but I'm still happy with what I've accomplished this year. Regardless, the job hunting continues and I'm looking forward to the end of the dog days of summer.
7/19/2026 - Slow Progress and Brain Dumping
This week, I've mainly been busy with working on a professional graphic design project, but I also managed to finish reading a book I started last week, going to the library meetups, going to a job hiring event, and going to a nearby farmer's market to pick up some zines. Despite going out a good amount, I still feel like I haven't gotten much accomplished this week. Oh well.
I have noticed that even though I've been staying away from tumblr, I was still probably spending a bit too much time on the Deltarune Unofficial Message Boards. This all came to a head on Saturday which is when I noticed I was kind of in a bad mood and decided to do a brain dump in my Traveling Journal, which instantly helped improve my mood. So yeah, I'm going to take that as a sign to try and monitor my screentime again and remember to frequently brain dump in my journals and see where that gets me by the end of next week.
7/12/2026 - Library Visits and New Stationary
This week I'd say I've been making good progress on getting out of the house more and attending more social gatherings. On Monday, I saw a really cool seminar about regional fiddle traditions and Saturday night I had a good time at a local board game club meeting that was hosted at my local library. (I did some other stuff too, but these two are the main highlights.) Also, my new Midori A6 journal and Prismacolor colored pencils arrived and I've been enjoying them both so far!
The new journal is supposed to be a "travel journal" as opposed to the bigger bullet journal I keep at home, so this is definitely going to be a experiment to see how I can properly integrate it into my journaling system alongside the bigger journal and my sketchbook. I'm still less then a year in to this whole journaling hobby thing, and I'm planning on doing my first "Techo Kaiga" in September (around the time I started my bullet journal last year).
As for the pencils, I can say that they're a vast improvement over the hand me down, mix-matched brand pencils I've been using as they feel easier to draw with and are generally more vibrant. Now that we're in the last half of the year, I'm hoping the new pencils will help encourage me to finish my current sketchbook in time for Christmas, because I has noticed some quality issues with the paper in my current sketchbook and would definitely like to try a different book for next year.
Job hunting still remains a priority though and I'm meeting with a life coach and attending a hiring fest next week so I really hope something comes from those. The problem with getting back into traditional art and getting into journaling is that stationary and supplies cost money, so having a steady income will be nice so I can have my hobby toys.
7/6/2026 - July Start
Been working a lot on my sketchbook last week, riding off the high of Deltarune Ch5 hype. Also went to grandparents house for the 4th of July so it was nice to go up in the mountains and enjoy some nice afternoon thunderstorms. I still need to work on some personal goals I have for ArtFight, so that will be my new priority for this week. In fact, I ordered some new colored pencils and a notebook which should be coming in the mail by friday so I'm excited about that.
6/28/2026 - Deltarune! The Fifth Field!
Admittedly I didn't really do much this week aside from wait for Deltarune to come out, play Deltarune, and think about Deltarune (and my Undertale AU). I'm hoping to get things back on track next week, though I still have a lot stuff I want to work on for the Undertale AU now for obvious reasons. Still, it would do me some good to get some fresh air I think. It's a little hard to discuss the new chapter of Deltarune right now when it feels like I'm currently an outlier in terms of what the fandom is currently interested in talking about, but that's probably just a sign I need to step back and focus on other interests until things calm down and the fandom normalizes. I still had a lot of fun. Playing Pokopia has helped me destress. I like the new Jirachi event furniture items, they're very cute.
