As you probably already know, I go by Graymin online and I specialize as a digital artist and graphic designer. My dream is to create a comic for my personal passion project, SisterSent, but I'm currently in any particular rush. I currently live in eastern Tennessee in the United States within the Appalachian mountains. I am also neurodivergent as I'm on the Autism spectrum and have ADHD.
My general life philosophy is that its in the best interests for myself and those around me to treat others with respect and patience and to build communities that uplift those experiencing hard times or individual struggles. There's a lot about the world that I would like to help improve and will likely require a lot of hard work and people stepping out of their comfort zones (something that I'm especially trying to get better at).
That said, I still think that art and creative expression are important for processing our own feelings, which I hope is something that I'm able to express in my work for this site.

About the Site
Graymin Gardens was officially launched as Graymin's Glyphs November 11, 2023 during a period of unemployment I had after first graduating after completing my Bachelor's Degree for Digital Media. If we want to get technical, the neocities account was first made in Spring of 2023 when I was taking an Introduction to Web Development class where I first learned HTML and CSS. However, a combination of boredom, cynicism towards social media, disappointment in my lack of employment, and growing fascination and adoration with the growing Indie Web movement led me to return to the site as a full project.
Since then, this website has become my pride and joy, which is why in 2025 (after finishing my Master's Degree) I decided to revamp and rebrand the site so I could add even more ambitious projects to it, and hopefully make it more accessible and useful to Indie Web newcomers.
Graymin Gardens?
As you may have noticed, Graymin is the username I prefer to go by online, as it's a combination of my IRL name (you can guess but i'll never tell) and my childhood favorite Pokemon, Shaymin! Seeing as how my Indie Web endeavors are largely inspired by the old Pokemon fansites I used to visit as a kid, it feels appropriate enough that my site should be slightly pokemon themed in this way.
Gardens can probably also be seen as a Bulbagardens reference, but truthfully, it's just because of how I ended up leaning into a very floral and verdant aesthetic for the default site styling. Plus, I think it's just a good term for describing an Indie Web site like this.
Old-followers of the site will also remember why the site was called Graymin's Glyphs originally. As a reminder you can still check out the old version of the site on the Internet Archive with the Wayback Machine!
Who's the Hot Pink Freak?
In some of the Graymin Gardens graphics you can see a pink Waddle Doo (from Kirby) wearing a witch hat. Her name is Dooloo and she's one of my Kirby fan OCs who basically became a mascot for the site during the debut, and she's stuck around ever since! If you want to learn more about her and her friends, check out my Kirby OCs page!

About Web Development
As mentioned before, I got my start with web programming through a college course, which definitely helped get started, but I can still share some links that can help you get started with understanding the Indie Web and how to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript!
